Abstract

In 2023, the NSHM Centre for Language & Communication (NCLC), in collaboration with ELTAI, organized two impactful academic events to advance language education. The first, a three-day National Conference titled Emerging Trends in Using Language and Literature in the Millennial Classroom to Foster Effective Communication, was held on March 3–4 at the NSHM Durgapur campus and on March 6 at the Kolkata campus. This event featured distinguished academicians, policymakers, and scholars, drawing over 200 participants, including students, researchers, and educators. The conference included engaging panel discussions and 40 research paper presentations, offering diverse perspectives on integrating language and literature into education to enhance communication skills.

The second event, a one-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on July 7, 2023, focused on refining English Language Teaching skills for school educators. Conducted by eminent experts, the FDP involved four interactive workshop sessions attended by representatives from over 30 schools and 40 educators. It provided practical tools and strategies to inspire and engage students effectively. Both initiatives underscored NSHM's dedication to fostering academic excellence, professional growth, and the transformative role of language and communication in education.
